More about this event

Upbeat and full of physical humour, Don Quixote is a perfect springtime adventure.

Follow the spirited adventures of the idealistic Don Quixote and his loyal squire, Sancho Panza!

The season will be capped with a burst of exuberance when Alberta Ballet dancers perform the rollicking high-spirited world premiere of Francesco Ventriglia's freshly reimagined Don Quixote. The central characters of this ballet, inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ famous novel, are full of wit and personality. Don Quixote adds a touch of whimsy with his chivalrous ideals and heroic stylings, and Kitri and Basilio, the young lovers central to the plot of the story, infuse the stage with energy and romance.

This new take on the beloved classic will feature new costumes designed by Gianluca Falaschi, handmade in his Rome atelier and new sets designed by Alberta Ballet Executive Producer Malgorzata Szablowska and built in-house.

This spectacular season finale will dazzle with whimsical charm and innovative design, capturing the playfulness and warmth of a classic.
